If you have lived in your house for probably over ten years, there is a high possibility that the drainage system in your house contains galvanized pipes. The pipe is used over a long period, well until the invention of the PEX pipes, which provide a better alternative to this. This is because galvanized pipes contain some form of fault with them. One of these faults is the fact that some of the water that we use is full of calcium. The zinc coating that galvanizes the pipes used in our old system reacts with this calcium to form a residue that makes a kind of a clogging over a long period. Corrosion is the other reason why PEX plumbing tubes are better than galvanized pipes. After using them for long, zinc fades away and corrosion occurs, poisoning our water and also exposing the pipes to more harm. It is therefore necessary to replace these existing pipes with others that will provide the same service with less possibility of harm. PEX pipe provide this option. In replacing the system:
1. Shut down the system:
Make sure that the whole supply of water is shut down before you do anything. Do not work in a place that has any form of a leak or gashes of water in some nearby environment. If the whole supply is not cut, at least make sure that the place you will want to fit your PEX plumbing tubing is water free.
2. Remove galvanized pipes
While removing the galvanized piping, one should have a form of container, since one cannot ensure that all the water has been drained off in step 1. The pipes can be removed by the use of a hack saw or tube cutter.
3. Install PEX fitting
You are then required to install the PEX fitting. This is the medium through which one joint of a different material meets another of a different or same material. Without this PEX fitting, leaks might as well be assured. Dielectric union might be a possibility in this stage.
4. Connect the PEX pipes
You can now connect the piping carefully, to avoid damaging the material. This is especially stressed at the edges. For flow control yoo urgently need Brass ball valves and other devices.
5. Test for accuracy
Make sure that you do the pressure test to see how accurate your work is. This should be stressed for any part in the system with a joint or fitting.

The PEX plumbing is a name given to highly versatile structure which is extensively used for distinct water plumbing applications. This entire mechanism was established in 1980s and since then is being the most used material for all hose applications. It is formulated with rigid molecular structure which imparts durability along with flexibility to this material. For such reasons, it is used for creating tubing and pipes of robust strength.
Everyone is aware of the fact that PEX plumbing is extensively used for distinct plumbing applications. This is because of excellent rigidity and elasticity which is being inherited by it. This however, is not the only sole reason. To make it more understandable to humans, this is the only structured system which saves about 30% of energy consumed in comparison to other PEX tubing materials. According to a recent survey done by water supplying authorities, the PEX is found to be maximum energy efficient material. It translates all heavy electricity consuming bills into lower with its effectual usage capability.
The PEX plumbing structures have an excellence capability to conserve energy. Correct installation of this mechanism reduces the amount of energy consumed by water heater. This is because of direct connections made between the heater and fixtures which makes the path to be travelled by broiling hose less. A higher R-value is rendered by it, in comparison to other materials used for plumbing tools. A larger R-value implies that less amount of heat is lost from hose traveling through PEX pipes. This is simple to understand, as cold water remains cold and hot water remains hot.
Another contributing reason due to which less amount of energy is being consumed by PEX plumbing structures is that it is incorporated with fewer connections. So, this further reduces the time of traveling of supplying water to various fixtures. Less connections also results in fewer chances of breakages, leakages and damages. So there is almost negligible amount of water lost through these leaks. Lastly, the PEX is made up of all Brass fittings and does not require propane torches. Since, no propane torches are equipped in its installation arrangement so most of the energy is saved on the job site.
All these factors truly reflect about energy efficient feature of PEX plumbing. In addition to this it is the only material which conserves almost 30% of water daily. Without any doubt, it is the finest solution to resolve all kinds of problems related with distinct water plumbing applications.
